The film is confirmed for a July
27th and has Viji Chandrasekar (sister of actress Saritha), Marimuthu,
Uma Padmanabhan and Vaduvukkarasi in key roles. Talking about the title
Lakshmi said, “Aarohanam means ascending of the swarams in a Carantic
raga. I was surprised to find that many of my friends dint get the title initially.” The film spans a total 90 minutes and has music by Mugamoodi composer K and cinematography handled by N. Shanmugasundaram. Produced by A. V. Anoop, Aarohanam is an ode to motherhood in all sense. Good words from K. Balachander have injected a whole lot of confidence too. During the audio launch event Balachander said “Nowadays, wherever one goes, Tamil films are spoken about highly and I’m sure Aarohanam is one such film which would be discussed by critics and movie-goers for a long time to come.
Lakshmi, who has her Leelai running successfully at the halls, feels
grateful for the welcome response by the audience. She is also making
her presence felt in the small
screen through a tele-serial named ‘Aval’ aired on Star Vijay. Hoping
that her fans won’t let her down for her debut as director, Lakshmi quips, “The film
is about a 17 year old boy and his sister and it’s filled with
emotions.” Serial actress Viji Chandrashekar, Sambath and Jayaprakash
have a key roles to play in the film.
